Jill Jasuta is a Cambridge-based photographer and graphic designer whose images often focus on the landscapes, waterways, and everyday details of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
On her own website, Jasuta describes herself as mostly self-taught in photography and design, drawing on photography, design, and writing to help tell place-based stories. After moving from Baltimore to Cambridge with her husband, Jim Duffy, she co-founded Secrets of the Eastern Shore, a project celebrating the Delmarva Peninsula through stories, photos, books, greeting cards, and related work.
Secrets of the Eastern Shore says Jasuta’s photography has been shown at the Dorchester Center for the Arts, the Leggett Gallery, and the Main Street Gallery, and published in outlets including Chesapeake Bay, Coastal Style, Edible Delmarva, Municipal Maryland, the State of Maryland Visitor Guide, and What’s Up Eastern Shore. In a VoyageBaltimore interview, Jasuta described looking for overlooked details, unexpected viewpoints, and signs of human life that give Shore landscapes a stronger sense of place.
